Walter Koenig is most famous as regular character Pavel Chekov in the Original Star Trek series. His character was introduced partly to appeal to the 'youth' audience, but also to bring in a hint of 'future' politics, where we all live in peace on Earth. Years later, he created another strong SF character in the form of Bester in Babylon 5.
