It is almost guaranteed that anyone reading this website already knows exactly who Tom Cruise is and have probably seen several of his films. Now one of the most famous actors in the world, he started by being the cheeky-handsome Hollywood actor (obvious in roles in Top Gun and Cocktail). With age and success, he has tried to fit in more of the challenging and interesting roles. So, yes, he will still keep making straight action flicks like the Mission Impossible series, but early interesting stories like Rain Man have given way to films like Magnolia, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, The Last Samurai and now War of the Worlds. While SF fans will always qualify the success of these, he is at least making the things!
