Samuel L. Jackson embodies "cool" without even trying. Who else could remake Shaft and make it real? While also appearing as a Jedi Knight in the Star Wars films and in charge in the xXx films. In Pulp Fiction he is unforgettable and who is the Harlem resident who stops Bruce Willis from being taken apart and gets dragged into Die Hard with a Vengeance? He is the cheap detective in The Long Kiss Goodnight, the spoof detective in Loaded Weapon 1, scientist in Sphere, police negotiator turned hostage-taker in The Negotiator and finds Bruce Unbreakable. Always with a sense of humour somewhere in the background, but always able to look very serious.
