Jean Reno is a terrific actor! From one of the best films ever made - Léon (The Professional) and standing out in character roles in other Luc Besson movies such as Le Grand bleu, Subway and Nikita, to other action characters as in Mission Impossible and Ronin to great comedies like Les Visiteurs, Roseanna's Grave and comedy-laced detective in Wasabi to serious police detective in Les Rivières Pourpres (and sequel). Not to mention big SF&F films like Godzilla and the Rollerball remake. Jean Reno always delivers a fine performance, often with a sly wisdom subtly traced into the characterisation - even with Léon who at first may appear as a simple man who is the best 'cleaner' in town, but actually has a depth that few actors could have brought out. I certainly make a point of seeing any film in which he stars.
