Harry Potter became phenomenally successful in book form and these were ideal material for film. Daniel Radcliffe was the young actor in the right time and place to nab the part of Harry Potter. With the film productions overlapping as each episode is only one year on from the previous one Daniel hasn't time to make anything else while making these and promoting them (and studying). However, he was already the young actor, having played in a BBC TV drama as the young David Copperfield and as the Pendel's son in The Tailor of Panama. While not yet contracted to do all seven Harry Potter films, he is signed for the fourth. The trick will be in successfully moving on from such a strong character in the future.
